Historic Falkland

25/06/2021
I spent the day in Falkland, which was Scotland's first conservation village. There are great walks in and around the village and the 17th century houses are very charming. The village centre doubled as Inverness in the 1940's for the Outlander tv series. The gardens at Falkland Palace are lovingly maintained by an army of volunteers. I really like the willow sculpture of Mary Queen of Scots in the garden's wildflower meadow https://www.nts.org.uk/visit/places/falkland-palace
